Those trees are a central feature of the lodge, where guests cross rope swing bridges between the treehouse-style rooms as the resident wildlife passes by. Ulusaba is Sir Richard Branson’s private game reserve in South Africa, and a sense of African adventure is felt throughout the lodge – especially from the treehouse viewing deck, which overlooks the Xikwenga Dam, where hippos and elephants are known to bathe.

The lodge consists of 11 luxury suites, including a Safari Room close to the Main Lodge which can be interconnected with the Safari Suite to create a two-bedroom suite. The three spacious Elephant Rooms, meanwhile, have large viewing decks with views over the bush; while the four River Rooms, are built to reflect a charming treehouse-style aesthetic.

The lodge also features a wine room, as well as two tennis courts (equipment provided), a gym, and the indulgent and secluded Aroma Boma spa treatment room, set amongst the trees on the banks of the dry Mabrak riverbed.
