Situated on the banks of the Sand River with sweeping river views from every vantage point, andBeyond Tengile lives up to its name, which means ‘tranquil’ in the Tsonga language.
The lodge features nine spacious, secluded suites, each with panoramic river views and a private plunge pool. The suites are elevated, allowing them to ‘float’ above ground level on the riverbank in the dappled shade of a cool forest. Each suite has a sunken outdoor lounge, elegant bedroom and bathroom that opens out onto the forest, creating private spaces in the open air.
The living areas are cleverly designed: for families or small groups, for example, two of the lodge’s suites are joined by a 12-meter covered walkway to create a combined suite. The guest areas, meanwhile, offer a selection of open, interactive and private spaces – all designed to create a relaxing haven of tranquility.
andBeyond Tengile’s safari game drives traverse an area of 10 500 hectares (26 000 acres), which can be explored via exclusive safari game drives or on foot, in an interpretive nature walk where you’ll learn more about the intricacies of the African bush. Every safari experience is conducted in safety, under the supervision of an experienced, specialist field guide and tracker team.
