MalaMala Rattray’s Camp
From AUD2,638 per person per night
Located in the vast MalaMala area, MalaMala Rattray’s Camp blends classic style with the best of the African bush experience.
MalaMala lies between the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park, covering 13 000 hectares (33 000 acres) and 20 kilometres (more than 12 miles) of Sand River frontage, making it a massive magnet for thirsty wildlife.
Guests enjoy an atmosphere of lush seclusion, with spectacular views of the Sand River where wildlife can be viewed while you’re having a dip in your private plunge pool, cooling off under the outdoor shower, or enjoying a massage on the deck.
Sumptuous meals can be enjoyed in a variety of locations including the “boma,” the deck, the dining room or in the privacy and comfort of your own suite. The lodge boasts 8 luxury suites, for a maximum of 16 guests. Facilities include an elegant dining room, library, historic bar, large infinity pool, and a traditional reed boma for evening meals around the fire.
Morning and evening safari game drives are, of course, the main attraction here. Again, MalaMala Rattray’s Camp offers rare exclusivity, with a maximum of just four guests per safari vehicle. Guided bush walks are also offered, giving you an opportunity to see the finer details – tracks, birds, smaller animals – that you wouldn’t usually experience from a safari game drive vehicle.
Children aged 16 and older welcome.
