The reserve is family owned and operated by the fourth generation More family, whose grandfather was one of the founders of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in 1948.
The lodge is a sophisticated interpretation of the traditional safari lodge, with light, bright contemporary décor and limited walls allowing a flow between the inside and out. Its eight Luxury Rooms, six Superior Luxury Rooms, and four River Suites (including one Family River Suite, and each with a private plunge pool) are set along a path that reveals splendid river views, ideally located for spotting animals coming down to the water to drink.
The lodge is conveniently located just 12 kilometres (7 miles) from Skukuza Airport and offers a wide range of activities for guests to tailor-make their stay. A particular highlight is the Lion Sands Treehouse overnighting experience in the Chalkley Treehouse, Kingston Treehouse, and Tinyeleti Treehouse.
